Look Up & See Something New in Downtown Oak Park

Every year, we update our light pole street banners with artwork inspired by Downtown Oak Park and created by a local artist. Each banner is sponsored by a DTOP member featuring the name of their business.

According to our Executive Director, Shanon Wiliams, “This is a program that is near and dear to my heart, featuring talented artists, and seeing how they interpret our gorgeous downtown. When I saw Neema’s work, I was so excited by her use of color and the energy and creativity she brings to each piece.”

Hear from the Artist

“Living in Oak Park has inspired my recent work, drawing from the quiet beauty of its streets, parks, and shared spaces. The neighborhood’s diversity and peaceful atmosphere have made me more attuned to the ways spaces, both public and private, shape our experiences. My art reflects the subtle energy in these environments—the moments of stillness and connection that exist between the physical places we inhabit,” explained Artist Neema Kimondo.
