Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare

A Comedy of Love, Identity, and Unmistakable Mischief

Viola is shipwrecked in Illyria and, believing her twin brother Sebastian to be dead, disguises herself as a man named Cesario to serve Duke Orsino. Orsino pines for Countess Olivia, who’s sworn off love, but when Cesario delivers Orsino’s message of devotion, Olivia falls for the disguised Viola instead. Meanwhile, Viola herself falls for Orsino, creating a tangled love triangle.

Meanwhile, Olivia’s pompous steward, Malvolio, is led to believe that Olivia loves him, revealing he has been deeply in love with her for a long time. Chaos ensues as mistaken identities multiply, especially when Sebastian, alive and well, arrives in Illyria.
