#MerchantSpotlight: Meet Judith Lalor, owner of The Little Gem in Downtown Oak Park!

How has the last three months affected The Little Gem?
“Business decreased 70% from April through the end of June. However, we’re happy to report that it is now picking up again.”

What have you learned as a business owner over the last three months?
I have learned that the way to keep a business going is by being flexible and being able torespond and adapt to changes quickly, much like life in general…

How can the community help The Little Gem thrive in the coming months?
Think of ordering from Little Gem Cafe for take-out meals and drinks. We can also delivery packaged meals for up to 12 guests if you have a large family.  All packaged containers are made from recycled plastics that can be used in the microwave to reheat dinners.

If you didn’t own a business, what would be your dream career?
Volunteering to care for the sick and dying.

Favorite local spot to dine?

Favorite fun thing to do when you aren’t busy running The Gem?
Read, be creative, work on my websites and watch history, science & natural geographic shows on tv.

Anything else you’d like the community to know about you as an individual?
I care.  I love the community of Oak Park. I am here to help in any way I can.
